Requesting continued prayers for the Jeff Parton

My father, Jeff Parton, is now at home but he is very, very ill and completely blind. He has a severe kidney infection and is in terrible pain. He also experienced heart failure and fluid on the lungs after his surgery. Pray also for his caretaker, Maria, and my sister, Anne Parton Steiner and her husband, John, who are doing their best to handle this situation while living two hours away from my father. Please pray also that I may find a way to go out there soon to offer him what solace I can and relieve my sister.

Thank you and to God be the glory.

Prayer Request for Samantha Foster – Lynn & JD Hamilton’s Daughter

Please be in prayer for Samantha Foster. She’s Lynn & JD Hamilton’s daughter. She’s had an incredible headache for a few weeks. The doctor called Samantha yesterday with the results of her recent CT Scan. She has 2 spots on the right front lobe of her brain. And her right front lobe has decreased in size. The doctor is scheduling an MRI. Pray for peace and comfort during this time of waiting. Also pray for Samantha regarding the MRI because she’s extremely claustrophobic. Let’s be praying for this family and loving on them too. I’ll share updates as they become available.

Love ya,

Moe

Autism Awareness Day/Month –

Please wear the color Blue on Friday, April 2 to help raise awareness for Autism and to commemorate World Autism Awareness Day on Friday, April 2.

April is Autism Awareness Month.

On the night of April 1, the Empire State Building will be lit up blue to raise awareness for autism.
Please remember to wear blue on Friday to support Autism Awareness Day!
In order to highlight the growing need for concern and awareness about autism, the Autism Society has been celebrating National Autism Awareness Month since the 1970s.
The United States recognizes April as a special opportunity for everyone to educate the public about autism and issues within the autism community. Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first two years of life and is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain, impacting development in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Both children and adults on the autism spectrum typically show difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions, and leisure or play activities.
Autism is one of five disorders that fall under the umbrella of Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), a category of neurological disorders characterized by severe and pervasive impairment in several areas of development.

Prevalence

Autism is the most common of the Pervasive Developmental Disorders, affecting an estimated 1 in 100 births (Centers for Disease Control Prevention, 2007). Roughly translated, this means as many as 1.5 million Americans today are believed to have some form of autism, and this number is on the rise.
Based on statistics from the U.S. Department of Education and other governmental agencies, autism is growing at a startling rate of 10-17 percent per year. At this rate, the Autism Society estimates that the prevalence of autism could reach 4 million Americans in the next decade. Autism knows no racial, ethnic, or social boundaries; family income levels; lifestyle choices; or educational levels, and can affect any family and any child.
And although the overall incidence of autism is consistent around the globe, it is four times more prevalent in boys than in girls.
